With its Adagio concept, Accor is now conquering Europe step by step. Sixty-three existing apartment hotels in 11 countries are to be followed by a further 37 very shortly. As such, Accor is also increasingly committed to the trend among guests for long stays, which provide them with what you might call a little home-from-home in a hotel complex.

The term long stay says it all. The idea is based on the fact that guests also have the option to stay here a little longer than usual. So, in addition to the usual hotel room facilities, there is also a fully equipped kitchenette in every room. This means everything is available for guests to take care of themselves.

At the same time, however, there are also the usual hotel amenities such as a lobby with a snack and breakfast area, helpful staff and room service. A perfect combination of hotel and your own home, so to speak.

The lobby of the Adagio in Berlin was remodelled by REINHOLD KELLER within four weeks during operation.

Adagio Berlin designed by Philip Watts

In Berlin, or more precisely on the downtown Kurfürstendamm, Accor has had the lobby of an existing Adagio Aparthotel renovated. Once again, Philip Watts from the UK has given the interior a new design. We were also able to work with this celebrated designer on the new construction of the Ibis hotel in Landshut, for example.

This design concept was again a complete success. The lobby includes key components specified by Accor. Philip Watts skillfully combined these with fresh, individual ideas to stage the new lobby perfectly. Which means, for example, magenta-colored pipes were used through all the public areas to bring a little local color into the concept. The end result was a customized lobby, a good match for Berlin, open plan, with natural touches due to its use of solid wood and high-quality tiling at the buffet.

The whole thing comes together in a very open, casual and friendly check-in area that is perfectly integrated in the lobby and a comfortable lounge and breakfast area, where guests enjoy staying a little longer.

REINHOLD KELLER as your development partner

In this project, REINHOLD KELLER was also able to invest its expertise built up over many years in terms of efficiency, feasibility and alternative ideas for lobby renovations. In cooperation with our subsidiary MB DIGITALPRINT we were able to tap into some great potential. As such, we printed some deceptively realistic graphic elements but also wall coverings at our own production facility. Their maintenance, care, durability but also ease of assembly and dismantling, which are especially appealing for further remodeling, were the points in favor of our technology.

The innovative wall panels from MB DIGITALPRINT were installed in the Adagio in Berlin.

A new lobby in just four weeks

But it was not only our expertise and flexibility but also the scope of services we offer that was the decisive factor in Accor collaborating with us. In this project, we acted as the general contractor, coordinated the relevant tradespeople, produced customized carpentry services in-house and with MB DIGITALPRINT we had unbeatable technology on board as well.

This strongpoint and therefore our very short communication lines mean we can easily renovate public areas within four weeks. Even while regular business is going on – as was also the case in Berlin. A permanent, uninterrupted check-in has to be guaranteed here during the renovation. And of course, to maintain services in the breakfast and lounge area.

All we have left to say is summed up by two statements from our client. Plus, we look forward to other joint projects in the future.

Thanks to our perfect cooperative effort and that REINHOLD KELLER finished the work on schedule.

Not only good but better quality delivered – thanks to REINHOLD KELLER.
